Sessions Calendar

Enterprise GIS for State DOTs: Part 1 ODOT TIMS
Enhancing Statewide Transportation Data, Visualization, and Analyses
Tues 7/16/24 1:00P-2:00P Grand Ballroom Salon 4, Marriott

The Ohio Department of Transportation maintains a custom web mapping portal where users discover information about Ohio’s transportation system, create maps, and share information. Branded as TIMS (Transportation Information Mapping System), this application has served as a centralized GIS portal for transportation stakeholders since 2013. Recently, TIMS has undergone significant enhancements that bring the application forward to current technology version and modernize user experience. A key component of these enhancements involved the integration of ArcGIS Enterprise.

Enterprise GIS for State DOTs: Part 2 ADOT
Enhancing ArcGIS Online, Branding Strategies, and Self-Service Mapping
Tues 7/16/24 2:30P-3:30P Grand Ballroom Salon 4, Marriott

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) sought to create a robust ArcGIS Online data supply chain, update existing maps, and create an online mapping resource to empower non-GIS users to create their own maps. By cataloging ADOT’s data, maps, and applications to determine data usage and update cycles, as well as developing optimized process flows for managing and maintaining all items, ADOT’s ArcGIS Online is becoming more comprehensive and efficient. To promote consistent branding, a StoryMap was created for ADOT users to develop new and updated content in line with other products.

GIS for Non-Motorized Transportation
Thurs 7/18/24 8:30A-9:30A Grand Ballroom Salon 4, Marriott

Non-motorized transportation and micro mobility options are critical pieces of an integrated urban mobility plan. These papers highlight some leading-edge work leveraging GIS to develop more effective and data-driven non-motorized plans to build more sustainable communities.

Building a One-Stop Shop for Transportation Asset & Performance Management
Thurs 7/18/24 10A-11A Grand Ballroom Salon 11 | Marriott

Ensuring easy access to authoritative data is a common challenge, especially when large quantities of data are involved. The City of Columbus Department of Public Service (DPS) tackled this by establishing a web-based solution called Asset Information Management System (AIMS). AIMS is an on-demand, self-service platform for DPS staff to interact with transportation assets through data analytics and spatial visualization tools. With AIMS, DPS can comprehensively view asset conditions, operational efforts, and roadway data relationships to help determine how resources can be optimally deployed.

Combining Design and Geoawareness for the Hamilton County, Indiana GeoHub
Thur 7/18/24 1P-2P Room 28 AB, SDCC

The Hamilton County, Indiana GeoHub is the primary public resource site for Hamilton County’s geospatial data, web maps, and applications. It is a platform for exploring and downloading geospatial data, discovering and building applications, and engaging others to solve important issues within the community.
